Olympic diver Mark Rourke are our new National Competitive Team coaches.
Randy Sageman, another former Olympic diver, is our new Masters

a Girl for CTDC coach Monika Berinde |
| CTDC's Junior Development and Masters coach Monika
Berinde gave birth to baby girl on July 29th. Maya Sophie
Berinde weighed in at 3.375 kg and 51.5 cm. Both mother and daughter are
doing fine. Congratulations to Monika and her husband Michael. |

CTDC Divers compete at Junior Nationals |
| Four of our divers competed successfully at the Speedo
Junior National Championships, held in Quebec City. Michael
Blumer finished 15th in the Boys 1 Metre Prelims. Shane
MacDonald finished 24th in both the Boys C 1 Metre and 3
Metre competitions. James
Markes finished 9th in the Boys A 1 Metre Prelims, and 10th
in the Finals. He also finished 11th in the Boys A 3 Metre
Prelims, and 9th in the Finals. Finally, Rachelle
Zuccaro finished 29th in the Girls B 1 Metre Prelims. |

Top 3 Scores at Tier I Provincials |
| All 5 of CTDC's divers earned at least one Top 3 score at
the Tier I
Provincials, held in Nepean Ontario. Dan
Marentic was 1st in the Men's Open 1 and 3 Metres. James
Markes was 2nd in both the Boys A 1 and 3 Metres. Michael
Blumer was 3rd in the Boys B 1 Metre, Shane
MacDonald was 3rd in the Boys C 1 Metre, and finally Rachelle
Zuccaro was 3rd in the Girls B 3 Metre. |

CTDC Divers earn Top 3 Scores at Tier II Provincials |
All of CTDC's divers finished in the Top 3, in every
event they competed in, at the Tier II Provincials held at our home pool
in Toronto. Scoring 1st Place finishes were: Nicholas
Apostolou (Boys C 1 & 3 Metres), Alex Chan (Boys D 1 Metre),
Jessica
Chan (Girls D 1 Metre), Caroline Spaner (Girls B 3 Metre), and
Yasmin
Virani (Girls D 1 & 3 Metres). Scoring 2nd Place finishes
were Michael Apostolou (Boys D 1 & 3 Metres),
Siobhan Holladay
(Girls A 1 & 3 Metres), Neil Mierins (Boys C 1 & 3 Metres),
Caroline Spaner (Girls B 1 Metre), and Katherine Welsh (Girls D 1
Metre). Finally, coming in 3rd Place were: James Hunter (Boys
C 1 Metre), and Angie King (Girls A 1 Metre).
Qualifying for the Tier I Provincials by score were: Nicholas Apostolou
(1 & 3 Metre), Alex Chan (1 Metre), Siobhan Holladay (1 Metre), Neil
Mierins (1 Metre), Caroline Spaner (3 Metre), and Yasmin Virani (1 &
3 Metre). |

Marentic competed at the Summer
Senior National Championships, in London Ontario. Dan finished 13th
in the 1 Metre Preliminaries. He finished 16th in the 3 Metre
Preliminaries, and 17th in the Semi-Finals. |

Qualifying Scores at John Dickinson Invitational |
All 9 of our competitive divers achieved qualifying
scores at the John
Dickinson Invitational in Etobicoke. Daniel
Marentic qualified for both the Senior Nationals, and Tier I
Provincials, in the 1 Metre and 3 Metre Competitions. Qualifying for
both the Junior Nationals and Tier I Provincials were: Michael
Blumer (1 Metre), Hamish
Kippen (1 & 3 Meter), Shane
MacDonald (3 Metre), James
Markes (3 Metre), and Rachelle
Zuccaro (1 Metre). Qualifying for the Tier I Provincials were:
Shane MacDonald (1 Metre), James Markes (1 Metre), Jade
Poole (1 & 3 Metre), Jami
Poole (1 Metre), Gabrielle
Smith (1 Metre), and Rachelle Zuccaro (3 Metre).
Hamish came in 1st Place in both of his events.
In addition 2 of our Master Divers had 4 Top 3 finishes. Josephine
Chen came in 2nd in both the 1 Metre and 3 Metre. Joel
Madden came in 1st in the 1 Metre, and 2nd in the
3 Metre. |

Top Three Scores highlight Atlantic Championships |
| CTDC had 5 Top Three scores at the Atlantic
Diving Championships in Halifax. Michael
Blumer was 2nd in the Boys B 1 Metre, and 3rd
in the Men's Open 1 Metre. James
Markes was 3rd in the Boys A 1 Metre, and 2nd
in both the Boys A and Men's Open 3 Metre. |

CTDC Divers reach Qualifying Scores at Forest City. |
All 8 CTDC divers who competed at the Forest
City Invitational in London Ontario, reached qualifying scores. In addition our
divers had 6 top 3 finishes. Qualifying for both the Junior Nationals
and Tier I Provincials were: Michael
Blumer (1 Metre), Shane
MacDonald (1 & 3 Metre), James
Markes (3 Metre), and Rachelle
Zuccaro (1 & 3 Metre). Qualifying for the Tier I Provincials
were: Daniel
Marentic (1 Metre), James Markes (1 Metre), Jade
Poole (1 Metre), Jami
Poole (1 Metre), and Gabrielle
Smith (1 Metre). Finally Daniel Marentic qualified for the both the
Senior Nationals and Tier I Provincials in the 3 Metre competition.
Our top 3 finishers were: Shane MacDonald (3rd in 1 Metre, 3rd
in 3 Metre), Daniel Marentic (2nd in 1 Metre, 1st
in 3 Metre), and James Markes (3rd in 1 Metre, 3rd
in 3 Metre). |

| CTDC had a very successful Spring
Break Invitational meet with 8 top 3 finishes. Michael
Apostolou qualified for the Tier
I Provincials in the Boys D 1 Metre, finishing first. He also
finished first in the 3 Metre event. Nicholas
Apostolou also finished first in the Boys C 1 Metre and 3 Metre
events. Neil
Mierins finished second in both of those events. Yasmin Virani and Katherine
Welsh finished first and third in the Girls D 1 Metre events. |

| CTDC's Michael
Apostolou, Yasmin
Virani, and Nicholas
Apostolou were all honoured at the 2005
Snowball Classic. Michael was named Most Improved Diver. Yasmin and
Nicholas were both named Most Outstanding Diver for girls and boys
respectively. In addition 6 CTDC divers qualified for the Tier
I Provincial Championships in the 1 Metre event: Nicholas Apostolou,
Michael

Kippen competed at the FINA
World Junior Diving Championships, held in Belem-Para Brazil,
October 26 -30, 2004. Hamish finished 22nd in the Boys A 1 Metre
Preliminaries, and 23rd in the Boys A 3 Metre Preliminaries. |
